Groat (1412-1413)

Henry IV (1399-1413) 4 Pence (Groat) ND (1412-1413) VF25 NGC, S-1727, N-1359, Light coinage, Primary series, mm: cross pattée. 3.63gm. A rare issue, almost always encountered with problems deserving of a notational qualifier. Here is an example that circulated thoroughly, but still managed to avoid any sort of notable damage, instead displaying even wear, an unplagued planchet, and a nice charcoal gray patina. Fully distinguishable as the scarce type it is, this specimen is the only problem-free example of its kind in the NGC Census.
