ЄD | WΛRD' • DI • GRΛ' • RЄX • ΛnGL' • Z (retrograde) FRΛnC | • DnS I • B' (trefoil stops), crowned, armored figure of Edward standing facing in ship with large rose on hull, sword in right hand, shield in left / (crown) IhC' x ΛVT' (crescent) TRΛnSIЄnS' x PЄR mЄDIVm: ILLORVm: IBΛT (trefoil and double trefoil stops), Rose in radiant sun over floriate cross, crowns and lions in angles, all within polylobe with large trefoils in spandrels. A radiant survivor of a coinage not often encountered in decidedly Mint State preservation, let alone assigned a Choice designation. Displaying an appreciable centering and crisp strike to the obverse that bestows all detail legible upon the sun-gold flan, the piece at hand is truly remarkable. Only four other examples have attained this lofty grade, with none certifying finer, making this "top pop" a top target for British collectors.
