Ducaton 1738, Harderwijk

Dutch Colony. United East India Company Ducaton (Silver Rider) 1738 AU55 NGC, Harderwijk mint, KM51, Dav-421, Scholten-53c (R). Gelderland issue. A very scarce Dutch VOC "Silver Rider" issue. This date is the most attainable of the three-year series but even still, the last example we sold in one of our auctions was a VF Details coin in 2016. This alluring selection exhibits a heavy gunmetal patina with mauve undertones. Significant underlying luster provides a divine glossy finish to the original surfaces.
